Last night when I told the kids Justin had a bit of a melt down. Justin has always been a daddy's boy and I think he misses Jared the most when he is gone. Anyway, he cried and cried when he found out that when he woke up in the morning Daddy would still not be here. Oh, so sad!
So this morning when Jared called to say he had landed in Salt Lake, I had all the kids jumping up and down and yelling, "Daddy is on his way!!!!" ""He's coming HOME!"
So we made Dad a welcome home sign. We taped it to the door that goes out to the garage so that when he pulled in he would see it. Then we made pancakes, eggs and orange julius for breakfast.
When the kids heard the garage door go up they screamed, "He's here!" They lined up at the back door to give him hugs. (We couldn't open the door because then he wouldn't be able to see his sign.) The kids even told me that I could be at the front of the line for the first hug and kiss. So there we stood for what seemed like forever until Jared opened the door to come in. I did get the first hug and kiss, but it didn't last long. I had barely hugged him before there were little heads poking through our arms to get in on the hug too.
Welcome home, Jared! We missed you!
