California Trip-Part 2

Here are the pictures from the 2nd half of our trip to California.

We went up to the Griffith Observatory. It was an awesome place to visit. It was free to visit. They have a lot of really fun and interesting exhibits. We decided not to do any of the planetarium shows. They were a bit pricey and a little long for some of the kiddos. The observatory sits up on the top of a hill so there is a great view of LA and the Hollywood sign.

We also went to Hollywood. We walked down Hollywood Blvd. and saw all the STARS. We visited also visited a few shops.

Then we went to see the Le Brea Tar Pits. These tar pits are right in the middle of LA. They are outside the Page Museum and are still very active today. New pits bubble up in the middle of the park all the time. When they get sufficiently big where they might be dangerous, they simply put a fence up around it. Most of the bigger pits have been excavated. They have found bones of many animals.

Then to we went to visit the LA Temple grounds. We didn't get a chance to go to a temple session, but we did want to see the temple. It is beautiful! It was a great opportunity to take the kids to see the temple. They really enjoyed being there. The church has also recently built a visitor's center right next door. It was beautiful as well. It was a great way to end our day. It reminded me of what is really important in life.

Sam and Lisa thanks for a great trip! We loved every minute of being with you guys.
