A day in the Mountains

Usually we take several camping trips throughout the summer. This year, however, due to Jared's health we haven't been able to go. The weekend before Jared's 2nd surgery though we decided to go up to the mountains for the day. We went up to a campground that is just above Pineview Reservoir. It was so fun and really nice.

We spent a couple of hours playing in the water. The creek was awesome. It wasn't too deep. It wasn't too cold. It wasn't running too fast. It was perfect.

We waded upstream a bit and there were several cabins along the way that had little patios off the back. We stopped to take advantage of a photo op.

After playing in the water, we cooked hot dogs on the fire. I don't know why but hot dogs are always better up in the mountains.

Then of course we had to have smores.

We had a great time. The kids especially enjoyed running, playing and climbing trees.

Looks like you had so much fun. Wish we'd of been there. The s'mores sound so yummy right now!

What are you trying to do--make us homesick? It all looks so perfect. Glad you could do it.

Hey, it looks like the kind of life I enjoy. We have missed the mountains and campling and family times together. Even the dogs look like they are having as much fun as the rest of the fam.

I love all the pictures. That is great that you still got to go to the mountains for the day. I think I will have to copy you this week before the kids go back to school.
