Camping Trip

We were very happy to be able to make it out on an actual camping trip this summer. We headed up to Idaho to meet my brother and his family. We camped about 15 miles outside of Lava Hot Springs.

The kids loved it. They ran and played with their cousins. They built a "kitchen" area to play in. They found an area of trees to play in. They brought in rocks and built a stove. They found ingredients to make meals(leaves, pine cones etc.) They did assure us that they weren't actually eating anything. The kids spent lots of time in their kitchen and created many new recipes.

We spent one whole day at the pool in Lava Hot Springs. Despite a really cold wind that was blowing we had a really fun time. The water was warm and the sun was out. (As my sunburned shoulders can attest to.) They have fun water slides and diving boards. Their indoor pool even had a climbing wall. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera to Lava so you will just have to take my word for how fun it was.

It was so nice to be up in the mountains. We had good food, good company and brought home fun memories.

Thanks for a good time, John and Alison.
