Jill's Birthday

I've been meaning to post about Jill's birthday for a couple of weeks. Several people have asked me about it...so here it is.

Jill turned 11 at the end of June. I can't believe it. Can she really be 11?

Anyway, Jill had a pretty good day. First of all, we had 5 cousins spending the week at our house. (Their parents were at youth conference and girl's camp.) So Jill thought it was so cool to have her cousins at our house for her birthday. We spent time at the park and splash pad (I'll post pictures of that excursion later.) Then Jill requested quesadillas for dinner. So I made a ton of both chicken and cheese quesadillas. Jill didn't want traditional birthday cake this year. Instead she wanted Chocolate Dazzler. This is a dessert that Jared's mom makes. It has a graham cracker crust, a layer of chocolate fudge and then a layer of cool whip and marshmallows. YUM!

Jill got roller blades for her birthday.
However, the ones in the picture ended up being too small. So she took them back and got different ones. They are black. Which Jacob thinks is great since he has been wearing the ones the girls grew out of and they are purple and grey. Before those he wore the white and pink ones. He is hoping she will out grow these soon so he can have manly roller blades to wear. (Perhaps we should think about manly roller blades for the September birthday.)

Here are all the cousins. This is actually the day after Jill's birthday. They were all doing melty beads. It was a good time!

Anyway, Jill had a great day. We love Jill and can't be more proud of the sweet girl she is. She is growing up so fast and I really can't believe that she is in 6th grade this year. (Eek, next year JR High!) She is so loving and kind. What a blessing it is to be her mom.
