Blue and Gold Banquet

We just attended our very first Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts. It was a really great night.

As many of you know Jared is the cub master so we got so see first hand all the work that went into the night. Here is the fearless leader!


They had a cake contest. All the boys were supposed to make a cake with their dad for the night. Here is Jacob's cake. I honestly didn't do anything except make the frosting. Jared and Jacob did the rest. It turned out pretty well.


All the boys received and award for their cake. We had a great couple from the ward who came and judged all the cakes. They were very creative in coming up with categories and awards for all the boys. Here is Jacob with his "Most Wolfish" award.


It was also a special night because Jacob earned his very first cub scout rank. He is now a Bobcat. (Unfortunately, I missed this part of the night. Jamie had a band concert the same night and so I had already made my exit to go see her perform.) Thanks Jill for taking pictures for me.

There was a great dinner of pulled pork and hot dogs! YUM! There were tons of games with prizes and one of the leaders even made pinatas. It was a night the kids will remember for long time.
