A laugh for today....

Since Justin has been in preschool this year I have enjoyed 2 hours 3 times a week that I can run errands and go grocery shopping all by myself. It is amazing how quickly I can get things done when I don't have the kids with me. I also spend less at the store because I don't have the kids begging me for things. I have also liked the time all to myself.

Yesterday I was reminded of how nice it is to go shopping alone. Here is what happened...

I was out running errands and I was in the store when this woman in the same aisle as me was talking to her two kids. They were being pretty cute and I smiled thinking to myself how much I missed my kids being that age. (About 1 1/2 and maybe 3) Anyway, the 3 year old starts asking her mom for a treat. The mom says that she only gets one if she has behaved in the store. The little girl asks, "How will I know if I'm good?" The mom's reply is, "Well, just do what I say and don't touch things."

So they go over to the next aisle, but I can still here them talking and chatting. Their conversation goes something like this.

"Mom, your butt is big!"

"What?"

"It is really big!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Your butt, Mom. It is humongous!"

"Shhhh....Don't talk about that."

"But everyone can already tell!"

I don't think she got a treat! And I have a renewed happiness that I can go shopping by myself.

Hey! It's Melanie's sister, Ann Marie. That is SO funny! I needed a good laugh today and you got it for me. Thanks!
It is VERY nice when you can get out and go shopping all by yourself...and not worry about what your kids are doing or saying. That's so funny! Thanks again!

I try to shop in the evenings when I don't have to take my kiddos! So jealous of your DAY time shopping trips. hmmm... maybe someday. About 5 years from now. When my baby is in school. (That seems so far away...)

Enjoy them for me too!

Hilarious! That's so funny! I wonder what made the girl say that in the middle of a store. Kids!

Hilarious! Sounds like that kid might be related to the one that "smelled butt" at Disneyland! hehe! You can't take kids anywhere!

Some days you wonder if it's worth it to teach them honesty if they're going to blurt out stuff like that! Cute kid!
