Thanksgiving!!!

Well, I've been meaning to post about Thanksgiving for several days, but just haven't gotten to it yet. We had a really great time! I will warn you now...this is a long post, but hopefully you'll all enjoy.

First, my mom and dad came out to spend the holiday with us. They were here the whole week before. It was so nice to have them here. My kids just couldn't get enough hugs and kisses from them. The Monday before Thanksgiving was a fun and busy day. First, I went to Justin's preschool. He was having a soup day and he could bring someone with him. The kids all dressed as pilgrims and acted out the story Stone Soup. It was so cute!

Then I went over to the school where I was in charge of the craft for Jacob's Thanksgiving party. We made Turkey hats. My brother, John, was nice enough to model it.

Thanksgiving day was great! We had dinner at our house. It was the first time we had hosted Thanksgiving dinner. My parents, my sister's family and our family were all together.

Jared and I working on dinner. We would love to take all the credit for a great dinner, but we had a ton of help from everyone. It was a great collective effort.

While the grown ups were helping with dinner, the kids played outside together.
Then we enjoyed an awesome dinner! YUMMY! YUMMY!
Jacob had an idea to make his very own turkey. He got a black trash bag and filled it with leaves from the back yard. Then made a turkey head and taped it on the bag. It was really cute! We set it out front to everyone could see it.On Saturday, my brother, John, and his family came down. It was fun to see all the cousins together. I let them have a picnic while they were watching a movie.

Saturday night Jerri, John and I took all the kids into Ogden to see my nephew, Jason, march in the Christmas Parade. The weather was perfect. It wasn't very cold! It was a really fun time and the kids all came home with pockets full of candy. We ended the weekend with a birthday dinner for my sister, Jerri! We took a picture with Grandma and Grandpa with all the grandkids that were there. It was fun!

Thanks to everyone who came! We had a fun time!

I truly am grateful for have. My life is so full of blessings that I can't even begin to count them. But I do want to say how grateful I am for family. I cherish every moment with them. Jared and I were both blessed with wonderful families. We are so glad to be a part of both families.
