I woke up today with hopes of today being incredibly productive. Determined to not wait until the last minute this year, I have been using the time I don't have any kids at home when Justin is at preschool to go and do holiday shopping.
Such were the plans for today until Jamie came in this morning with a tummy ache. She said she felt like she might throw up. Now many of you may remember a previous post where I mentioned my extreme issues with vomit, so anyway I immediately told her to stay home. I will not send any child to school is there is any possibility of them throwing up at school. I was a little disappointed because my shopping excursion is canceled and I'm never happy at the chance of vomit. EWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I figured it is not the end of the world. I still have tons I can do at home. I need to finish putting up Christmas, do laundry, holiday cards and quilts to work on.
So I am helping kids get ready for school and as I'm making a trip down to the basement to get something. I notice that the dog is cowering by the back door. This is not a good sign. She only does this when she has made a mess. So I look around and sure enough there is a pile of dog vomit. DOUBLE EWWWWW!!!!!!!
Now if I hate to clean up after the kids, I really hate to clean up after the dog. But what can I do. Jared has already left for work. I can't just leave it there all day. It was not a pretty sight. I won't go into details. Let's just say breakfast will have to wait until my stomach settles down.
If only I could figure out how to make the dog carry around a bucket like I do with the kids.
Anyway, I figure my day can only go up from here.

That is not fun. REALLY NOT FUN. Tis the season, though, for more than cookies and candy. What would a winter be without sniffles and coughs?
Hope tomorrow's a better one.
Sorry to send the bad luck your way! :) I can't imagine dealing with dog stuff - I don't think I could handle that one. Maybe you could try doing like they do with horses & their feed buckets how they hang them on their noses... maybe if you had a small enough one you could try hanging it on Sabie's nose! :) Just a thought! Hope Jamie didn't end out throwing up & nothing else goes on. The closer we get to the holidays the more worried I'm getting at the rate we're going. Hopefully it'll all be over by Christmas if we're getting it now!
Reason 344 why I won't have a dog. Yuck! I hope you were able to get over it - that's just really yucky!
You need to get in touch with the St. Bernard Breeders Assn. Surely Jared could take once of the things that those dogs have around their necks in the mountains and make it into a "Sabie Barf Bucket!"
Ugh. That is a tough morning. Did Jamie ever get sick?
Yes, Jamie did end up throwing up off and on Monday and Tuesday. Now today Jacob is home sick. It is always when I'm very busy with other things.
I'm so sorry. Hopefully all of this will be done by Christmas vacation when you have 'em all at home.
