Gum in the shower?....

First, a little background....

We have 2 bathrooms with showers in our house. We have 4 kids. When the kids are taking their showers at bedtime we have 1 of the kids shower in our bathroom and 1 in the hall bathroom. Then when they are done they other two shower. I have heard many people say that they don't allow their kids to use the bathroom in the master bedroom, because they like having it being a kid free zone. I get that, but by letting the kids use our bathroom we get the kids ready for bed twice as fast. Plus we shower in the mornings so what is the big deal with letting the kids shower in there at night? So bottom line, our kids use our shower daily.

Now the story.....

About a year ago I step into my shower and look up at the shower head and there is this sticky goo spread all over it. I take it down (it is one of those hand held deals) to take a closer look. "Is that gum? No, it couldn't be!" I look and look at it. Finally, I do the unthinkable...I smell it. "Hmmm, MINTY!" Yep, it's gum. I scratch as much off as I can and finish my shower even though it creeps me out a bit. I mean what if the gum that has been in someone's mouth and is now contaminating every drop of water I'm showering in. EWWW!!! (I know I'm weird!)

Anyway, after I get out and dressed I start questioning kids. Of course, NO ONE knows anything about it!

Several days later one of the kids tells me that what they think happens is that someone (Not them! But someone) had gum in their mouth when they got in the shower, but didn't want to get soap or shampoo in the gum. So of course they put it up there on the shower head where it would be out of the way. That way it could still be chewed later. Then maybe the hot water made the gum too soft and gooey to get it off!

Hmmm...I'm thinking it might be extremely likely that that is what happened. (Although no one is fessing up!)

No matter how much I've scraped and tried different cleaners including GOO GONE, I still have a little bit of remaining gum on the shower head.

Fast Forward....

Last week I get in the shower and when I shut the shower door I spot a green blob stuck to the top of the shower door! What?! Upon further inspection I realize that yep it's gum again! And once again, NO ONE knows how it got there. Funny thing is Jared showered before me and didn't even notice. (Hmmm, maybe it was Jared!)

I kind of feel like I'm in one of those Family Circle comics where there is there is a little invisible person with the "nobody" shirt on who is running around being naughty.
