Jamie turns 11!!!!

Friday Jamie had her birthday. She was very excited to be turning 11! Jamie got her birthday present a day early. What she really wanted most was contacts so that she didn't have to play sports with glasses. (I guess she gets that from me.) So the day before her birthday she had her eye appointment and got her contacts.

She requested chicken pillows for dinner. YUM YUM!!!! And a butterfly birthday cake. Grandma and Grandpa Porter and Aunt Nancy joined us for dinner and dessert.

Another highlight to Jamie's day was that the other kids wrote and performed a song for her. They practiced and practiced her "gift" for several days before. As you can tell they also raided the dress up box so that they could have costumes as well. It was priceless!!!!


My sister's family couldn't make it for Jamie's actual birthday; so they came over yesterday for dinner and dessert. This is Jamie opening her present from them. It is a portable contact kit. It is so Jamie can put it in her backpack for school and be able to take care of her contacts at school.
Overall, Jamie had a good day. It is hard to believe that she is already 11!!! She is growing up so fast. We are so blessed to have her in our family. She is a good kid who has a good heart and tries to be the best that she can be. We are so proud of the young lady she is turning into.
