Jake's Arrow of Light Ceremony

Jake has worked very hard the last several years in Cub Scouts.  Several months ago he received his Webelos badge and then last month right before his birthday he received his Arrow of Light.

In Jake's group there are about 5 boys who have all come through scouts together and so they were able to all receive their Arrow of Light at the same time.

Jared, the Cub Master, likes to have this couple come and do the Arrow of Light ceremony.  Their whole family comes and does parts of the ceremony.

At the beginning as she talks about the Cub Scout trail. Their son dresses up as the the Indian brave who follows "Akela" along the trail.  They presented the boys with their arrows and talked to them about what the arrow respresents.  They talked about the spirit of scouting and moving on to Boy Scouts.

At the end they "cross over" the bridge from cub scouts to boy scouts.  Here they are saying goodbye to their cub master and being greeted on the other side by the scout master.

Jake is very proud of his arrow and we are proud of all the hard work he has put into cub scouts.  We look forward to watching him learn and grow in Scouts.

Here are my boys in uniform.
