Jacob's Birthday!

Jacob had his 8th birthday on Sunday! He was so excited for many reasons. #1 He gets to be baptized when he turns 8, #2 He gets a friend birthday party when he turns 8, #3 He gets to choose a special dinner and dessert and #4 He get presents!

Jacob had a great day. He wanted breakfast burritos for dinner. YUM! He wanted a skateboard cake. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday this is his list:
1. His own scriptures so he doesn't have to share with his sisters any more
(All our kids get them when they turn 8 so no problem!)
2. Legos because, (and I quote) "Hello, I love Legos!"
3. Jeans without holes in them to wear to school
4. SOCKS! (My personal favorite) They day before his birthday he put on some socks and they had a hole in them and he came up and asked me, "Mom, can't I just get some new socks for my birthday. "

So I passed on this list to anyone who asked what he wanted and as you can see he got what he wished for!














Jacob is very special to us! He was our little surprise. The minute they laid him in my arms I felt a very special bond with him. I knew that he was sent by God to fill a very special place in our family! I'm so grateful for him. He is sweet and tender and at the very same time all rough and tough BOY!

My favorite things about Jacob are:
*I love to watch him build. He loves legos, blocks, lincoln logs, etc. He knows what he wants something to look like in his mind and then builds it. He gets that from his dad.
*Jacob is very loving. He gets up everyday and gives me a cuddle before he starts his day.
*Jacob is my early riser! He gets up early and gets dressed and ready for the day.
*Jacob is a good brother. He is easy going and often chooses something to play because he knows the other person wants to do it. When he was 4 we had a little girl from church come play with him. He said, "I have sisters so if you want to play girly stuff I'll do it. So he spent the afternoon playing Polly Pockets and My Little Ponies.
*Jacob loves to laugh! He likes to make others laugh too!
*Jacob is all boy. Give him a basketball, football, frisbee, car or rocket and he is one happy boy!
